A two minute egg

Last night, I cheated...and went to look at the poetry thursday prompt early. I shouldn't have. Sorry Girls, but I don't like this prompt. It feels big and huge and brings sentimental crap to my mind. I'm sure all the other poets will come up with good stuff....and that's all the bitching I can do in two minutes...off to work.

I say, don't let this opportunity pass you by. Write through whatever it is you need to write through and see where it takes you. I start a poem in one spot, ending up somewhere completely different.

Yes, the prompt is optional, but maybe you can fine a way to make it small.

Whatever you decide, I can't wait to read about it on Thursday.

Yikes! I really need to proof before hit "enter." Sorry about the typos.

I think they all have potential to bring sentimental crap to mind (!), but when I think about time I think about death, disintegration, etc. so I'm sure I'll have more super-upbeat-cheery stuff to share.

I don't think you should feel bad for not liking a prompt or even try to "fight" your way through it. Even professional poets don't write about everything -- they usually find a niche they are most comfortable in.
